Pele Sighting
Sighting of the Volcano Goddess Pele
on the Big Island of Hawai'i

Many people claim to have seen the fiery volcano goddess Madame Pele in and around her home,
Kilãuea Volcano, on the Big Island of Hawai'i.
Now and then a photographer captures an image of Pele in the clouds above the volcano, in
the lava flow, or in the mass of steam generated when the lava flow hits the sea. An occasional such photo finds its way into
a local Nig island newspaper or even one of the major newspapers in Honolulu.
The image above shows the profile of a female face in the lava flow as it races down to meet
the sea. Are such images actual appearances of the deity? Or are they projections of the aggregate of thought forms in the
human psyche, thought forms that stem from shared beliefs? What do you think?
This photo was given to me by a friend. Do you know who the
photographer is? If so, please contact me, so I can give her or him credit. Mahalo.
